The Johnsons | Family Session | Boca Ciega Millennium Park Photographer

I first heard about the Johnsons through my friend, Brittany, who you might remember from this session with her sweet family out at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor, FL 🙂 Rebekah Johnson, the beautiful mama you’re about to meet, is BFFs with Brittany, and after seeing their fall session, she reached out to me to capture her little family, too!

Two Saturdays ago, Luke and I drove out for the first time to the lovely and lush Boca Ciega Millennium Park in Seminole FL, to meet the Johnson clan. Noah and Rebekah, their sweet kiddos Natalie and Cole, and Rebekah’s mama, Celeste (LOVE that name!) had traveled all the way down from Palm Harbor for their session, and just like the Brittany had done with her tribe, Rebekah had put together a look for her family that was classic, cohesive without being “matchy”, and that really helped to show off everyone’s personalities (be on the lookout for some gold sparkly boots! 😉 )

While I know that it’s always a little awkward at first to be in the front of a camera, especially with someone you’ve only just met, I was SO grateful that Noah and Rebekah trusted my vision for their session, and were so quick to “stand over there”, “just all talk together”, etc. At each session, I try my best to give only minimal directions like that, helping to move my clients into general poses that allow for “real life” to shine through. In fact, my favorite images from this session aren’t the few more posed ones we did, but what was captured in between….the laughs, the smiling eyes, the arms touching, the incredible legacies being passed on, the goofy and ridiculous faces being made (cough cough NOAH cough cough). My greatest hope for a session is to be able to truly capture the personality and heart of the people I’m with, and I’m so excited to share this session with you because I feel like you’ll be getting to know the REAL Johnsons, a funny, committed, and donut-bribing family held together by Jesus and two parents who have been through hell and back, and chosen each other and their life together anyways.

Below are some of my most favorite images from this family session out at Boca Ciega Millennium Park, and I hope y’all love them as much as I do! ❤️

If you’re interested in a family session to capture the heart of YOUR little tribe, I’d love to talk with you! You can email me directly! jenny@thisgoodlifephoto.com
