Lynchburg Virginia Hollins Mill Maternity Photographer | Baby Goins

Earlier this summer, I flew back up to Lynchburg Virginia with Kim to spend a weekend visiting our best friend Erin, who is pregnant with her first little one and due on my birthday 😉! Erin is the first of our little trio to be expecting, which obviously made our visit extra special, but what really took things to the next level is that Erin and Justin have been praying and hoping and wishing for a baby of their own for years, and seeing her growing bump in person was such a powerful reminder of the Lord’s faithfulness and perfect timing.

Our “Annual Girls Weekend, 2017 Edition” was full of our favorite things, including PJ-clad movie nights at our AirBnB and food touring around the Burg, but the moments I’ll always remember are: getting off the airport escalator and seeing The Bump in person for the first time; being behind the camera capturing this long-awaited maternity session; sitting on the couch watching Erin open up baby gifts because her Lynchburg friends had been willing to schedule her baby shower for the weekend we were in town; and spending probably hours talking together about life, pregnancy, families, relationships, marriage, and faith.

We had planned on doing Baby Goin’s Lynchburg maternity session on the Saturday morning of our visit and when we checked, the weather forecast predicted perfect weather…before it started pouring 🙄 We were literally driving to our first location through a downpour, debating whether or not to reschedule. Thankfully, things started to dissipate and we had a wonderfully overcast and not-too-hot morning of shooting at some of my favorite Lynchburg locations, including Hollins Mill Park and the Randolph College campus!

And I owe an enormous thank you to Natasha Coan, the owner of Foraged and Cut, for creating the perfect flower crown for our session!!! It’s a little bit of a funny story how I reached out to her and asked if she might be available, only to realize shortly afterwards that I already knew her because she’d done all the gorgeous florals for Kim’s wedding back in ’13! She was going on vacation when I first emailed, but graciously agreed to put together a crown for us as soon as she returned, and the morning of the maternity shoot, met us in a Kroger parking lot in the rain to hand deliver it to us. She’s the best, and we were completely in love with what she created! 🌿😍

And speaking of being completely in love….let me introduce you to Beckett Thomas Goins and his stunning mama!

If you’re expecting and are interested in a maternity session to capture the heart behind your pregnancy adventure, I would love to talk with you, and I LOVE to travel! You can email me directly at 💛
