Cheers to Monday | May 2nd
The Week in Review | April 26 – May 2, 2016
Happy May!!!! Can you believe we’re already through April?! Holy.Moly. I’m extra excited for this month, though, because we have a little getaway scheduled (Luke is surprising me, so I have no idea what we’re doing/where we’re going!), it’s looking like I’ll get to partner with a sweet home-decor shop and update all their images (more on that in the coming weeks), AND we’re only one month away from our two year (TWO YEAR) anniversary/a trip back home to Vermont for Bub and Lyd’s wedding! YAY!!!!
And also, I chose that picture for today because I’m really wishing I was celebrating this new month with a tasty donut right about now! And how cute are those little knit ones??
And with that, here are some of the highlights of the past seven days!
-I called today to schedule a haircut for tomorrow! I realized recently that it’s been over a year (?) since the last cut….so…..I think it’s time 😉 And having someone else wash my hair?? Ahhhhhhhhhh.
-I had a special tea date at Infused Tea Co. with Greta, of Green Pearl Photography, and we spent all morning chatting about marriage, money, Dave Ramsey, our businesses, and more. It was SO encouraging and refreshing to my heart ❤️
-We hosted just Jordan for this past Monday’s family dinner, because Ami was still out of town with Noah and we didn’t want him to starve to death 😉 We tried a new recipe for beanless crock-pot chili, and it was da bomb!
-I wrote a really (really) personal blog post this past week about why marriage is hard sometimes and how I’m watching Jesus redeem those moments into something incredible and life-giving!
-I curated and mailed out a special client gift today, which brings up two fun Jenny facts: I LOVE getting to surprise people, and I love going to the post office!
-Luke and I were sure to be really intentional from the start of last week about making Friday night our date night, so that other events/appointments/good things didn’t get in the way of us spending some quality time alone together catching up. We stopped off for some iced coffee and then drove out to the beach to read another chapter in our current Married Book Club book. Our favorite beach faces the West, so unless it’s cloudy, you’re pretty much guaranteed to have an incredible sunset any evening you go, and that night was no different! (My phone was dead in the car, so Luke snapped this gorgeous view for me!) Afterwards, we picked up dinner on the way home, and had a lazy rest of the night on the couch. It was perfect, and I’m SO thankful we set that time aside at the beginning of the week! ❤️
