Cheers to Monday | March 27th
The Week in Review | March 21 – 27, 2017
We have a super exciting end to our week to look forward to, with Luke’s mom and dad driving down from VT to visit us for the first time here in FL, and WE CAN’T WAIT!
But until then (I’ll be sharing all about that in next week’s Cheers), here are just a few of the highlights of the past seven days!
– Luke and I have really fallen in love with hammock-ing together out by the water, so we ordered a second hammock last weekend and it came in on Monday, which means we spent an evening swinging between the trees, watching the sun set, and catching up on a little bit of for-fun reading. It was SO relaxing…until I got real chilly because of the breeze and we had to go home ? (My Northern blood is thinning quickly lol).
– On Friday night, Luke and I drove south to Lakewood Ranch, FL to have dinner with Russ and Linda, dear friends of ours from CT who are down in Florida for a few weeks. Getting to catch up with these two meant the world to us!!! They have poured into us as individuals AND a couple for so long, and even drove up to VT three years ago to stand with us at our wedding. They feel like family (they are family), and we are incredibly grateful for their bold faith, kind hearts, and enduring marriage. We look up to them in so many ways, and treasure these annual dinners together (this was year two!) when they make the trek South! ?
– I have been collecting old records for a few months now. I’ve always loved record players, but have never really invested in them myself until recently. So far, all of my vinyl has been purchased at thrift shops for a buck a piece, and I’ve found some awesome treasures…like the original Sound of Music + My Fair Lady soundtracks, and a two-piece collection of Handel’s Messiah recorded decades ago by the New York Philharmonic. BUT….I haven’t had an actual turn table….until NOW! This weekend, we were adventuring around a local shop when I saw an old Panasonic turn table sitting on the bottom shelf for $7 (say WHAT!). We scooped that baby up and brought her home, and since then, I’ve gotten her all dusted off and wiped down, and am so excited about this fun little project for Luke and I to take on as we work to get her in perfect operating order! I’ll be sure to post pictures as soon as she’s all finished!
