Cheers to Monday | June 6th

The Week in Review | May 31 – June 6, 2016

We just got home from our usual Monday dinner with the Finleys, pushing in through the door together while trying to manage returned tupperwear and our big, sopping, white and yellow umbrella. Hellloooooo, late night Cheers. It’s been raining cats and dogs here for two days now, with some spectacular thunder storms and gusty winds, along with the occasional flickering of lights and power, i.e. the perfect weather for great sleep, in my opinion. I don’t really know why, but I LOVE snuggling under the covers when there’s wild weather outside but our house is filled up with peace and safety.

And with that, here are some of the highlights of the past seven days!

-Those torrential downpours I mentioned? They’re thanks to Colin, the very first, full-fledged tropical storm we’ve experienced since moving down to Florida. And I’m loving it! Except that stormy, rainy days such as these make me want to snuggle on the couch and read books, not get productive things, like writing Cheers, done 😉

-Luke and I had the opportunity to help serve at our church’s weekend VBS program this past Fri., Sat., and Sun. It was so much more life-giving and encouraging to my own heart than I’d expected it to be, and at the end of the weekend, we were tired, yes, (SO tired), but we were also SO filled up, too. And there was something extra special to me about getting to serve together with Luke ❤️

Plus, getting to see him shepherd and encourage our tiny group of four and five year olds basically melted my heart!

-Wednesday was tacos and mentoring day for me! Caroline, one half of a local husband and wife wedding photography duo here in St. Pete, spent the afternoon answering my list of business related questions and sharing her own experiences in the industry. She took the time to really dive into my business, and reminded me again how impactful it can be to interact with others from a place of community over competition. I can’t wait for our next lunch date!

I promise that more than three exciting things happened in the last week, but it’s late, I’m tired, AND there’s a crazy thunderstorm happening right now, so I’m going to wrap up and go jump into bed so we can fall asleep to the sound of the rain!!! 😀 Happy late-night Monday, friends!

PS – I have some exciting sneak peeks coming your way throughout the week, so be sure to stay tuned over on the FB page for those!
