Cheers to Monday | January 30th

The Week in Review | January 24 – 30, 2017

Happy Monday, friends! Did y’all have a good weekend? Tell me in the comments about something fun or memorable that you got to do! ? I’ll go first….after a church meeting last night, we went out to dinner with two sweet couples from our small group and spent the evening laughing and sharing over pizza and salad! We’re one of the youngest couples in our small group, by a few decades in most cases, which is something Luke and I are especially thankful for. We find so much value in sharing a big part of our lives with husband-and-wife believers who are filled with the wisdom of many years of marriage and faith! ❤️

And with that, here are just a few of the highlights of the past seven days!

– I shared a blog post full of intimate images from my Fresh 48 Session with the Hancocks. I know that kind of session wasn’t even really a “thing” until more recently, but I think it’s a really precious way to capture the details and emotions of those first couple of days as a new family, and I was completely honored to be able to do that for Emily and Brandon!

– It’s just a little thing, but I found some new candles for around the house at TJMaxx, and I love the way they make our little home smell fresh and clean and bright ?

– I learned a valuable lesson in being patient and extending grace and understanding because my sweet hubby and a trusted friend were willing to listen and then speak truth into my life. Thinking about it more this morning, it’s such a good reminder to me about why it’s so important that we do life together in community with others, even when it’s hard or embarrassing or we’d rather just be hermits in our own story ?

– Other little tidbits from the week: Coffee and heart-sharing with Kim were just I needed to wrap up last week. Shay Cochrane shared some really practical and encouraging words for entrepreneurs and creatives in a podcast this week.  I finished reading Meet Mama Bear, and started a new book called Falling Free. I made up a really (REALLY) good new lunch dish that includes zoodles and bacon and baby tomatoes (mmmmmm). I entered an online photo contest for the first time ever…yes, it was scary…yes, I’ve been watching from the sidelines for years…yes, it feels great to have entered anyways! Still watching Blacklist and New Girl with the hubs. I took a bubble bath and a nap, and both were glorious.

We had lunch with Bub and Lyd on Saturday, lunch with the Simpsons yesterday and then FaceTime with Carlee reading me a book. It was great! Missing the Florida Rickers! ❤
