Cheers to Monday | April 18th

The Week in Review | April 12 – April 18, 2016

Hi guys! Welcome to a brand new week! Did you have a good weekend? Do anything extra fun? I’d love to hear your favorite weekend memory in the comments!!!

It is an absolutely beautiful Monday here because there’s a nice breeze, blooming flowers, sunshine, chirping birds, and especially because it’s a bit cooler than I thought it would be (extra exciting since our AC is out again lol). I woke up feeling rested and ready to tackle the day, which I wasn’t really expecting because of how completely exhausted I was yesterday….and if you happened to be following along on Snapchat over the weekend (Let’s be Snap friends! I’m therickertwo), then you know why….it was girls’ weekend!!!! 😀 Kim’s and my best fran, Erin, still lives alllllll the way back in Virginia, and we haven’t been all together in almost two years, so you can imagine how much we tried to cram into our three day visit when Erin flew down on Thursday!

And with that, here are some of the highlights of the past seven days, which will mostly be a bullet-point recap of G.W. … And if you scroll all the way to the end, you just might see some video footage, too 😉

-Kim and I took Erin to our favorite little Italian spot, Mazarro’s, for lunch after we picked her up at the airport. We inhaled our sandwiches and then killed a homemade eclair on our way into town, so that was a pretty great start to the weekend 😉

-WE TRIED THE MELTING POT FOR THE FIRST TIME. Actually, Erin had already been before and told us that if there was one close by, it was definitely going on our G.W. list. And it changed our lives. We were loud and excited and laughing to the point of tears and kept mmmmm-ing over how delicious everything tasted. To the other patrons at the Melting Pot, who maybe weren’t there with their best friends that they hadn’t seen in a really long time, we apologize!

– We spent a good part of the day Friday at the beach, praying all the while that it wouldn’t storm like the radar made it sound like it would, and it didn’t! The water was extra blue-green, we saw dolphins playing off shore, we shared our hearts while we enjoyed a very adult-feeling picnic of cheese, crackers, and grapes, and then we floated around in the shallow waves finding shells and giggling while we people watched. We might have also gotten really bad sunburns.

-Other favorite G.W. memories include our adventure around the Saturday Morning Market, watching a movie all curled up on the couches together after finally figuring out how to get the TV to have sound, laughing our way through our friendship piercings (ears only!), staying up WAY too late, getting ready together in the tiny apartment for our girls’ night out, lazy, slow starts to the mornings (except that one time my automatic alarm went off at 7:15a ?), and walking ALL around downtown St. Pete to the point of exhausted sore feet and worse sunburns 😉

BONUS: I saved and combined the three Snapchat videos from our G.W. and am sharing them here in case you want a little extra entertainment for your Monday afternoon 😉 You are not allowed to judge!!! ? (All you have to do is click the “full screen” button in the bottom right corner of the clip, and it will make the video big enough to actually see, promise lol!)

Y’all. I could not be any more thankful for that time spent with my favorite girls! It refreshed me, filled me up, encouraged me, made me laugh SO HARD, and spoke right to my spirit about why close community and deep friendships are so vital and life giving ❤️ PS – Having a husband who encourages you to schedule this kind of girl time, and then backs that up by making a point to budget for it, is one of the sweetest things I know! Thank you, Babe!!!
